FLUX NIGHT 2013 Curated Project
Saturday, October 5 7 pm to midnight
Castleberry Hill Arts District
A vanilla milkshake-scented fountain is accompanied by the sound of chirruping cicadas in this new piece, designed especially for Flux Night. Surgingly phallic yet evoking the pleasures of childhood treats, Maciá’s piece reflects our comfort-seeking, supersize-me culture.
London-based, Columbia-born Oswaldo Maciá works mainly with the non-visual senses of smell and sound. He has shown internationally in projects including the 2012 Manifesta exhibition in Belgium and Nuit Blanche,Toronto.
