This edition is a series of five stills from the video installation work Between You and Me. Presented as a multi-screen installation, Between You and Me is a kaleidoscopic view of small single moments that seem to be happening just before or just after the dramatic moments. The film follows six characters as their paths intersect and are connected by the objects they carry—objects that help to define them. These characters inhabit the vestigial spaces of personal interaction in an “online” world, and the strain in the interactions is palpable. These interactions are daily occurrences, repeatable cycles: the ebb and flow of library shelves, the constant stream of letters in a post office or coffee in a diner, a pattern of failed relationships. These are the things that happen daily and accumulate.
Between You and Me, a five-screen video projection, was presented at Flux 2010 in Atlanta. Each of the five projections was 80 x 140 feet, and together they covered the entire facade of the Norfolk Southern Building.
