Small Moments of Happiness

Call for Artist Concepts

Small, unexpected moments can transform an ordinary day. They interrupt the familiar rhythms of our routines and create shared flashes of happiness among friends, neighbors, and complete strangers. These moments make us smile, laugh, and look twice. They spark curiosity, open space for reflection, and invite us to experience the city, and one another, with fresh eyes.

Flux Projects is seeking to add these Small Moments of Happiness to daily life along Peachtree Street in 2026.

Who can apply:
Artists do not have to live in the Atlanta metro area, but there is limited budget for travel, so this should be kept in mind.

What:
Projects can be installations or performances. Timing will vary depending on discipline; works may run or be installed for as little as one day or for several months.

Where:
Peachtree Street from 10th Street to 16th Street. Our focus is the pedestrian experience along the sidewalk, but we will consider projects in adjacent outdoor spaces.

Process:
We are first asking artists to submit concepts in no more than 250 words. From these submissions, we will select a group of artists to develop full proposals.

Budgets are not required to apply, but as guidance: We are looking to fund roughly eight projects with most falling in the $5,000 to $10,000 range, and contingent on funding, a larger project or two (likely under $25,000).

Artists do not need to select or secure their own sites but are welcome to suggest a location if they have one in mind.

To submit:
Complete the Google form linked below with the following information: name, address, telephone, email, website, and 250-word concept.

Deadline to submit:
February 7, 2026.  Artists will be notified by March 1, 2026.
