“All of a sudden a freaking zebra comes running down the street like a car,” Nance told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Five or six police cars were in hot pursuit. And a bunch of officers on foot. But then I got scared, thinking … what else is loose?”

Lima Lives! celebrates the life and spirit of Lima, the zebra that escaped from Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus near downtown on February 18, 2010. For nearly one hour, this courageous animal managed to break free of his circus routine and run wild in the streets of Atlanta. Riffing on the excitement of multiple sightings of him that day, Lima Lives! will roam the city at night and project a running zebra back into the landscape.

In coordination with FLUX, nightly projections will begin one week in advance of the event and move in a geographically tightening radius, leading to the October 1st event in the Castleberry Hills Arts District.
